The service
Section 20 Defender provides a guided platform that helps a long leaseholder in England organise the evidence behind a Section 20 notice, service charge demand, or major-works dispute into a Defence Pack, for a fixed fee of £34.99 per pack. We do not send, file, or submit anything on your behalf - you review, edit, and decide what to do with what you’re given.
Not legal advice; not a case review
As set out in full in our Disclaimer, this service provides information and document-preparation assistance only. It does not constitute legal advice, does not review your case, and does not determine whether any charge is valid, invalid, lawful or unlawful. It covers England only, long leaseholders only, and does not cover building safety, active proceedings, or forfeiture cases. We accept no responsibility for the content, accuracy, or outcome of any Defence Pack you generate or use.
Payment and refunds
Payment is taken via Stripe before your Defence Pack is generated. Because this is a digital service that begins and completes within minutes of payment, once your Defence Pack has been generated we are unable to offer a refund, except where the service has materially failed to deliver (for example, a technical fault prevented your Defence Pack from being generated at all, or your case is found to be out of scope only after payment was taken). See our Disclaimer for the full refund policy, or contact us via our Contact page.
Your responsibilities
You’re responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide, for reviewing and editing your Defence Pack before using it, and for deciding yourself whether, when, and how to send anything to your landlord, managing agent, or any other party. You must not use this service to submit false, defamatory, or abusive content.
Intellectual property
The Defence Pack generated for you is yours to use as you see fit. The platform itself, including its design, code and branding, remains the property of Section 20 Defender.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude liability for any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of this service, including any loss connected to the outcome of a service charge dispute. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under English law.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
